Our Committee

GET INVOLVED

The Pre-School is run by a voluntary Management Committee made up of volunteer parents/carers and staff. All Committee members are registered with Ofsted and have passed enhanced DBS checks.

The Committee as a whole is responsible for managing the Pre-School, employing staff, managing the finances, organising & manning fund-raising events and making decisions concerning matters affecting the Pre-School such as changes in the law, policies and procedures, new equipment, outings etc.

If you're interested in joining the Committee, please contact us.

The Pre-School Learning Alliance has produced a useful leaflet about the benefits of becoming a committee member- you can download a copy below.

Research shows clear benefits for children when parents become actively involved in their child's learning and development from an early age.
The 3 main roles within the committee:

Chair

Some of the chair's roles within the committee are to organise Criminal Records Bureau checks for new employees. Making sure committee members and staff have clearly identified role and responsibilities. Also deciding who will attend committee meetings. Knowing the roles and legal obligations of the committee.

Treasurer

The role of the treasurer will include reviewing fees, approving an annual budget and the treasurer will also monitor the budget regularly.

Secretary

Some of the roles of the secretary includes organising agendas and making a record of minutes. Also setting meeting schedule, deciding how often to have the meetings and where. The secretary will also inform Ofsted and the Charity Commission of any changes.
